This years university elections for the faculty council as well as the university senate will be held online from 10am on the 11.07.24 till 10am on the 17.07.24.
We PhD students count as a separate status group and vote our own representatives. We have one seat in the faculty council of the faculty of physics and mathematics. Furthermore, the PhD students of all eleven faculties together have three seats in the university senate.
This means that we urgently need a list of at least two candidates for the faculty council (one seat and one deputy). Candidatures for one of the three PhD student seats in the university senate are highly appreciated as well.
Eligible for voting as well as contesting for the Representation of PhD Students are only the enrolled doctoral candidates. If you count as an enrolled doctoral candidate or an employee depends on whether you were matriculated at the electoral deadline (which was 02.05.2024).
Therefore: If you are interested in representing the PhD students' interests during the coming two semesters, we will be very happy to hear from you, answer your questions and assist you with the formalities. Just contact us by e-mail phd@mathphys.uni-freiburg.de, by telephone or by showing up at our office at any time (see the start page for contact data). The Deadline is the 27.05.24!

In case you are not sure if you are eligible for voting/beeing a candidate, you have the possibility to check from the 13.05.24 until the 17.05.24 if your name is in the electoral register, containing the names of all qualified voters. If you want to do so, please make an appointment with the electoral office (via telephone: 0761 203-4850 or -4851; or via mail: wahlamt@zv.uni-freiburg.de).
